Transcanyon Waterline Project

The Transcanyon Waterline (TCWL) project is a long-overdue effort to upgrade and modernize the potable water infrastructure within Grand Canyon National Park. As a SuperSub on the project, GSE is playing a vital role in rehabilitating and constructing new treatment plants and water systems across three key locations: Phantom Ranch, Havasupai Gardens, and the South Rim.

  • Phantom Ranch – GSE is constructing a booster pump station and water treatment plant, ensuring reliable access to clean drinking water. This facility sources water from a newly built surface intake structure in Bright Angel Creek, treating it for local use or pumping it up to Havasupai Gardens.
  • Havasupai Gardens – Upgrades include the installation of a 900 HP pump and rehabilitation of aging pipelines to improve water distribution and efficiency.
  • South Rim – The 1 MGD South Rim Water Treatment Plant will treat water that has been pumped over a mile in elevation from Bright Angel Creek, ensuring a safe and sustainable water supply for the 4.7 million Grand Canyon visitors and staff.

With a completion target of October 2025, this project is a crucial step toward securing clean and reliable water for one of the nation's most iconic landscapes! It has been GSE's greatest pleasure working on this national treasure.
